CRYPTOCORYNE WENDTII 'TROPICA' – Hammered Leaf Foreground Aquarium Plant

Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Tropica' is a striking variety of the popular Sri Lankan species, named after the renowned aquarium plant company Tropica. This version features dark, hammered leaves that lie flat along the substrate when grown in open space, giving it a natural and compact appearance ideal for aquascaping.

Reaching heights of 10–15 cm and spreading 10–20 cm, it’s perfectly suited for the foreground or midground of small to medium aquariums. Like most Cryptocorynes from Sri Lanka, it grows well in hard water and thrives under medium to high lighting, with or without CO₂ injection. Its slow but steady growth and resistance to fluctuating water conditions make it a favorite among beginners and experienced aquascapers alike.

Propagation occurs via underground runners, allowing it to slowly spread and form lush, textured clusters. Its low maintenance and classic aesthetic make it a reliable choice for long-term setups and natural layouts.
