Echinodorus 'Red Diamond' is a striking ornamental aquarium plant developed in Ukraine from a cross between Echinodorus horemanni 'Red' and Echinodorus 'Barthii'. This hybrid features deep ruby-red, sword-shaped leaves that grow to 15-25 cm in length. Unlike many other species in the Echinodorus genus, 'Red Diamond' remains compact in size (20-30 cm tall), making it ideal for small and medium aquariums.
Its moderate growth and intense coloration make it perfect as a solitary centerpiece in aquascaping layouts. When grown in nutrient-rich substrate and under strong lighting, the plant produces vibrant red foliage and grows more densely, adding dramatic visual appeal.
