One of Manado’s key features is its ability to absorb excess nutrients from the water, limiting algae growth without affecting the health of rooted plants. Its natural laterite-like color creates a realistic aquarium appearance, reduces fish stress, and enhances their coloration. The smooth granules are safe for bottom-dwelling species like Corydoras, preventing damage to their sensitive barbels.
Unlike other substrates, Manado does not dangerously lower carbonate hardness (KH), thus helping to maintain pH stability. It can be used alone or as a top layer over a traditional fertilizing substrate.
