ELATINE HYDROPIPER – Fine-Leaf Carpet Plant for Nano Aquariums, 1-2-Grow! Tropica Cup
Elatine hydropiper is a highly decorative aquarium plant, ideal for creating dense, natural carpet layers in the foreground of freshwater aquascapes. Its most distinctive feature is its extremely small and delicate leaves, making it a top choice for nano aquariums and finely detailed layouts.
The plant’s fresh green color blends seamlessly with hardscape elements like rocks and driftwood, adding visual softness and realism to any aquascape. Its creeping, horizontal growth allows Elatine hydropiper to slowly cover the substrate with a neat, compact mat. While similar in appearance to Hemianthus callitrichoides 'Cuba' and Glossostigma elatinoides, it grows more slowly, making it easier to maintain and less demanding in terms of trimming—though it still benefits from high light and CO₂ supplementation for optimal results.
This version is provided in a Tropica 1-2-Grow! cup, an in-vitro culture that is free of pests, algae, and pesticides, and is 100% safe for shrimps, delicate fish, and new tank setups. Simply rinse off the nutrient gel, divide into small portions, and plant in the substrate using tweezers to achieve a consistent carpet effect.
Main features:
Foreground carpet plant with slow, horizontal growth
Ideal for nano tanks and nature-style aquascapes
Tiny, fine leaves with bright green color
Grows similarly to Cuba and Glossostigma, but slower and easier to manage
CO₂ and regular fertilization recommended for best results
Supplied in sterile Tropica 1-2-Grow! cup
Pest-free, algae-free, and shrimp-safe
Great for forming dense, low-growing carpets
Why choose Elatine hydropiper 1-2-Grow!:
Elatine hydropiper adds elegance and realism to any aquascape with its subtle texture and tidy growth habit. Perfect for aquarists who want a manageable carpeting plant that won’t overwhelm the layout, it’s also safe for sensitive species and ideal for professional aquascaping projects.
