JBL Sansibar Grey 5 Kg is a fine, non-colored natural grey sand ideal for freshwater and marine aquariums as well as terrariums. With a grain size of 0.2 to 0.6 mm, it ensures even distribution across the aquarium bottom and offers optimal support for plant root systems. Made from finely ground granite, this high-density substrate prevents the buildup of waste and sludge while maintaining a clean, stable environment.
Its smooth, rounded texture protects the delicate barbels and skin of bottom-dwelling fish such as Corydoras and Botia, making it also suitable for shrimp and other sensitive invertebrates. The neutral grey color minimizes light reflection, enhancing the natural beauty of fish and plants, and promoting a calm environment for shy species. JBL Sansibar Grey does not alter the chemical balance of the water and is compatible with all types of aquatic habitats.
For optimal plant growth, it is recommended to use JBL AquaBasis (6-8 cm layer) beneath the sand.
