Seachem De*Nitrate 250ml is a high-porosity biological filter media designed to remove nitrates naturally through anaerobic denitrification. It also helps control nitrites and ammonia, offering effective nutrient management without the need for specialized reactors. Its porous 4 mm granules provide optimal surface area for beneficial bacterial colonization.
Ideal for freshwater and marine aquariums, De*Nitrate can be used in low-flow filters or directly on the tank floor as active substrate. Its performance is similar to Seachem Matrix, making it a top choice for advanced filtration systems.

Directions for Use:
Place De*Nitrate in a low-flow area (under 200 l/h) of your filter. For higher flows, Matrix is recommended. Rinse before use. After a few days, nitrate levels will stabilize and gradually reduce to 4–5 mg/l. As long as nitrate levels remain low, the media is still active.
Each 500 ml treats 100–200 liters, depending on starting nitrate levels and bioload.
