SILICATEX is a high-efficiency filter media designed to eliminate silicates (SiO₂) from both freshwater and marine aquariums. Silicates are commonly introduced through tap water and promote the growth of diatoms, brown algae that coat decorations, plants, and substrates. By removing silicates, SILICATEX helps stop diatom development, restoring a clean and healthy aquarium environment.
In addition to silicates, SILICATEX also binds phosphates, further limiting nuisance algae growth. It’s especially effective after water changes, when silicate levels tend to increase. Easy to use: rinse, place the media into the included mesh bag, and insert it into the filter. The 400g pack treats up to 200–400 liters of water and ensures SiO₂ levels below 0.4 mg/l, preventing diatom formation.
