HI782 NITRATES TEST – High Range Checker for Marine Aquariums
The HI782 Nitrate Test from Hanna Instruments is a high-range, handheld photometer specifically developed for nitrate measurements in marine water up to 75 ppm. It bridges the gap between visually interpreted chemical test kits and professional lab instruments, offering precision, speed, and ease of use at an affordable price.
Unlike standard kits limited by subjective color comparison, the HI782 uses a fixed-wavelength LED light (525 nm) and a silicon photocell detector to deliver reliable and reproducible results, ideal for nutrient management in marine tanks with higher nitrate levels or under cycling conditions.
Technical specifications:
Range: 0.00 to 75.00 ppm of nitrate (NO₃⁻)
Resolution: 0.01 ppm
Accuracy: ±0.25 ppm ±2% of reading at 25°C
Method: Colorimetric (sample turns pink/purple upon reaction)
Light source: LED at 525 nm
Detector: Silicon photocell
Power supply: 1 x 1.5V AAA battery
Auto shut-off: After 10 minutes of inactivity
Operating conditions: 0-50°C; max. 95% RH (non-condensing)
