LILAEOPSIS BRASILIENSIS – Compact South American Carpet Plant for Aquascaping and Freshwater Aquariums
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis is a carpeting aquatic plant native to South America, widely used for creating a dense, vibrant grass-like foreground in freshwater aquariums. With narrow, linear bright green leaves, it grows to 4–7 cm in height and thrives under high light conditions, forming a thick lawn effect across the substrate. To ensure optimal growth, it should be planted in small portions (about 1/8 of the pot) a few centimeters apart, and placed in open, unshaded areas.
Delivered in a breathable blister-packed pot, this live plant is easy to handle and ideal for aquascapers aiming to achieve a neat, natural layout. Remarkably adaptable, Lilaeopsis brasiliensis can also be grown in garden ponds and brackish water aquariums, tolerating low levels of salinity.
Best suited for the foreground and midground, this plant adds a vibrant, orderly aesthetic to any aquascape. It is perfect for both experienced hobbyists and beginners equipped with adequate lighting systems.
