CERATOPHYLLUM DEMERSUM 'FOXTAIL' – Compact and Hardy Hornwort Variety for Aquariums

Ceratophyllum demersum 'Foxtail', also known as ‘Coda di volpe’, is a rare and beautiful aquatic plant discovered in a small tributary of the Rio Guaporé between Bolivia and Brazil. This rootless floating plant stands out for its denser leaf structure, shorter internodes, and numerous side shoots, giving it a bushy, compact look reminiscent of a fox’s tail.

Ideal for freshwater aquariums, this variety can float or be planted in the substrate, with each stem reaching up to 80 cm tall and 5 cm wide. It’s significantly more robust than standard Ceratophyllum varieties, with stems that don’t break easily, making it suitable for tanks with active fish and for aquarists seeking low-maintenance options.

Key features:
• Compact and attractive form with tight foliage and side shoots
• Fast-growing, can float or be planted
• Very hardy stems, less prone to breaking
• No roots or substrate required
• Versatile plant for any aquarium zone, great as shelter for fish
• Ideal for beginners and heavily stocked tanks
