BUCEPHALANDRA PYGMAEA 'WAVY GREEN' – Lava Rock-Grown Epiphyte for Foreground and Nano Aquascapes
Bucephalandra pygmaea 'Wavy Green' is a popular and easy-to-maintain epiphyte, presented here pre-attached to lava rock, offering a ready-to-use solution for aquascapers who value both beauty and practicality. It grows naturally on wood and rocks in Borneo streams, making it similar in care to Anubias.
The green, wavy-edged leaves grow up to 2 cm wide and 5 cm long, and often develop tiny white specks when submerged. Its rhizome must stay above the substrate, as burying it can cause rotting. The porous lava stone base promotes root anchoring and water circulation, helping the plant thrive over time.
This Bucephalandra grows slowly but densely, branching out naturally even without pruning, making it ideal for nano aquariums, shrimp tanks, and low-maintenance setups. It does well in low to medium light, and CO₂ is optional, though beneficial.
Main features:
• Grows on natural lava rock, ready to place in tank
• Wavy green leaves with potential white speckles
• Slow-growing and self-branching
• Attach to hardscape, never bury rhizome
• Perfect for foreground and small aquascapes
• Shrimp-safe, ideal for low-light tanks
• Works well without CO₂, but benefits from it
Why choose Bucephalandra 'Wavy Green' on lava rock:
A pre-mounted, compact aquatic plant with ornamental leaves and minimal maintenance—perfect for both beginners and advanced aquascapers seeking elegance and ease.
