What is Ammonia:
Ammonia is produced by fish metabolism and the decomposition of organic matter such as uneaten food or waste. In newly established tanks, ammonia accumulates quickly before nitrifying bacteria are fully active. Regular testing helps maintain a safe environment for aquatic life.
How to perform the test:
Rinse the vial with aquarium water
Fill the vial with 10 ml of water to be tested
Add 5 drops of reagent NH3 1 and shake
Add 5 drops of reagent NH3 2 and shake
Add 5 drops of reagent NH3 3 and shake again
Wait 15 minutes, then compare the color with the provided chart to determine NH3/NH4 levels
