POGOSTEMON STELLATUS SPEC. – Ornamental, Demanding Stem Plant for Freshwater Aquariums
Pogostemon stellatus spec. is a spectacular stem plant from Southeast Asia and Australia, known for its dense spirals of leaves and intensely colored tips. Naturally growing in marshy areas, often at altitudes over 2000 meters, it is considered one of the most challenging aquarium plants to cultivate. To achieve healthy growth, Pogostemon stellatus spec. requires soft freshwater, intense lighting, continuous CO₂ supply, and balanced nutrition. Once the stems reach the water surface, the upper shoots can be trimmed and replanted for propagation, while the lower cut sections will continue producing new shoots, keeping the plant group dense and vibrant.
