BUCEPHALANDRA sp. 'BROWNIE' – In Vitro Epiphyte with Shimmering Reddish-Brown Leaves for Foreground and Midground Layouts
Bucephalandra sp. 'Brownie' is a decorative, slow-growing epiphyte from Indonesia, featuring small, oval reddish-brown leaves with a distinct shimmering metallic appearance. It grows upright, sometimes branching, forming compact, elegant clusters, ideal for natural aquascapes.
As an epiphyte, it must be attached to driftwood or rocks, keeping the rhizome above the substrate to avoid rot. With low light needs and no CO₂ requirement, it’s a perfect choice for low-tech tanks, nano setups, and shrimp-friendly environments.
This plant is in vitro cultivated, meaning it’s free from pests, snails, and algae. The sterile gel medium helps it quickly adapt to aquarium life without contamination risks.
Main features:
• Small, reddish-brown oval leaves with shimmering texture
• Upright growth with potential branching, up to 10 cm tall
• Epiphyte – attach to wood or stone, rhizome must remain exposed
• Slow growth, low light and low CO₂ compatible
• In vitro: pest-free, algae-free, shrimp-safe
• Ideal for foreground or midground in planted tanks
Planting instructions:
Gently remove plant from the container and rinse off gel.
Split into small clusters (1–2 cm).
Attach to hardscape with glue or thread, keep rhizome exposed.
Space portions for even group development.
Why choose Bucephalandra sp. 'Brownie':
Elegant and rare, this epiphyte brings a touch of warm, shimmering color and texture to planted tanks with minimal care requirements.
