BUCEPHALANDRA sp. 'ULISSE' – In Vitro Aquarium Plant with Red, Green and Brown Leaves
Bucephalandra sp. 'Ulisse' is a rare, slow-growing epiphyte from tropical Asia, known for its multicolored foliage combining shades of green, red, and brown. It thrives in low-light, low-CO₂ conditions, making it a perfect choice for low-tech aquariums, nature-inspired scapes, and shrimp-friendly environments.
With a growth habit similar to Anubias, it should be attached to hardscape like wood or rock, keeping the rhizome exposed. Its slow, compact growth and subtle coloration make it ideal for midground placement, where it adds contrast and texture without overpowering the aquascape.
Grown in vitro, this plant is free from snails, pests, and algae, ensuring a clean start and a smooth transition to underwater life.
Main features:
• Decorative leaves with green, red, and brown tones
• Compact, slow growth – up to 10 cm tall
• Best for midground placement, thrives in low light
• Epiphyte – mount on wood or rocks, do not bury rhizome
• In vitro grown: pest-free, shrimp-safe
• Great for beginners and low-maintenance tanks
• Adds natural color and texture to aquascapes
Planting instructions:
Remove plant from cup and rinse off gel.
Split into 1–2 cm portions.
Attach to driftwood or rock with glue or thread.
Avoid burying the rhizome to prevent decay.
Place in shaded areas with gentle flow for best results.
