ROTALA WALLICHII – In Vitro Aquarium Plant with Delicate Red Needle-Like Leaves
Rotala wallichii is considered one of the most stunning species in the Rotala genus, prized for its delicate, needle-like red leaves that add an elegant and refined touch to aquascape layouts. Native to Asia, this plant is perfect for the background (third layer) of the aquarium, where it can grow up to 40 cm tall. With its relatively slow growth and light sensitivity in the lower parts, it’s important not to plant it too densely or near fast-growing, invasive species.
To achieve optimal development, Rotala wallichii requires strong lighting, regular liquid fertilization, and a good supply of CO₂. While it may be delicate, the visual rewards make it well worth the effort, making it an ideal choice for sophisticated layouts and detailed aquatic landscapes.
This in vitro-grown plant is free of snails, pests, and algae, thanks to the use of high-quality gel that ensures rapid adaptation in the aquarium. Before planting, thoroughly rinse off the gel under running water, divide the plant into small 1-2 cm clumps, and plant them at short distances to form a uniform group of mature plants.
