MICROSORUM PTEROPUS 'WINDELØV' XL – Extra-Large Fringed Java Fern for Freshwater Aquariums

Microsorum pteropus 'Windeløv' XL is the extra-large version of the patented Java fern variety named after Tropica founder Holger Windeløv. This ornamental epiphyte stands out for its delicately branched leaf tips, offering an elegant and eye-catching look ideal for medium to large aquariums.

Reaching 15–20 cm in height, 'Windeløv' XL grows from a strong horizontal rhizome and should be attached to driftwood, rocks, or hardscape elements—never planted in substrate, as burying the rhizome may lead to rot. This slow-growing, low-maintenance plant requires no CO₂ or intensive care, making it perfect for both beginners and advanced aquascapers.

It thrives in low to moderate lighting and adapts well to a wide range of water parameters. Its tough leaves are unappealing to herbivorous fish, making it suitable for community tanks. The XL version adds immediate volume and aesthetic impact, enhancing the aquascape while offering natural cover for aquatic life.
