TAXIPHYLLUM BARBIERI – Hardy and Decorative Aquarium Moss
Taxiphyllum barbieri, also known as Java Moss, is one of the most popular aquarium mosses due to its incredible hardiness, adaptability, and visual appeal. Native to Southeast Asia, it forms dense clumps ranging from 3 to 10 cm in height and thrives under a wide range of conditions, even in low light or nutrient-poor environments.
Its natural tendency to cling to wood, rocks, or artificial surfaces makes it ideal for aquascaping and for creating lush, natural-looking underwater landscapes. It is also excellent for hiding technical equipment and offers a safe shelter for fry and shrimp. It can be easily attached with cotton thread or fishing line and trimmed with scissors to maintain the desired shape.
