Cryptocoryne lucens is a compact and easy-to-care aquatic plant native to Sri Lanka, making it an excellent choice for the foreground of freshwater aquariums. With its narrow, pure green leaves and slow growth, this Araceae family member provides a tidy, natural look with minimal maintenance.
Growing between 10 and 20 cm tall, Cryptocoryne lucens is well-suited for forming green carpets or creating clear visual separation at the front of aquascapes. Its slow growth means less frequent trimming, and older outer leaves can be removed as needed. Complete pruning, about 2–3 cm above the substrate, encourages denser regrowth over time.
Adaptable to a wide range of water parameters, this species propagates via runners and establishes itself gradually in stable tank conditions.
