Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea' is a striking golden-leaf variant of the European native creeping Jenny. With moderate growth and a compact habit, this plant adds a bright, decorative element to freshwater aquascapes. Its luminous yellow foliage contrasts beautifully with surrounding green plants, making it an ideal choice for background or midground placement.
While its care needs are similar to the standard green variety, ‘Aurea’ thrives under high light, which enhances its golden coloration and keeps its growth dense and controlled. It can reach up to 40 cm in height, spreading laterally or growing upright depending on trimming and lighting. It also serves as a useful indicator plant, quickly showing nutrient deficiencies through stunted growth or leaf fading.
Cultivated in vitro, this plant is free from algae, pests and snails, and readily adapts to aquarium environments. Suitable for submerged use, as well as in paludariums or semi-emersed setups.
