BUCEPHALANDRA sp. 'AQUA ARTICA' – In Vitro Aquarium Plant with Deep Green Foliage and Slow Growth
Bucephalandra sp. 'Aqua Artica' is a rare, slow-growing epiphyte from tropical Asia, known for its compact, deep green leaves and ease of care. Perfect for the midground of planted tanks, it thrives best under the shade of taller plants, minimizing light competition. With care similar to Anubias, it's ideal for both beginners and seasoned aquascapers.
This variety must be attached to wood or stone, as burying the rhizome may cause decay. Its modest size and growth make it an excellent choice for shrimp tanks, nano aquariums, and natural layouts. Medium light and a moderate CO₂ supply can enhance its health and color vibrancy.
Being grown in vitro, this plant is free from snails, algae, and parasites, making it perfectly safe for delicate aquarium ecosystems. The high-quality sterile gel ensures fast adaptation to submerged life.
Main features:
• Intense green foliage, compact and structured
• Max height 10 cm, best for midground placement
• Epiphyte – attach to hardscape, do not bury rhizome
• Slow grower, medium light and CO₂ recommended
• Pest-free in vitro culture, shrimp-safe
• Easy maintenance, suitable for all experience levels
• Perfect for natural, low-tech, or shrimp-friendly aquascapes
Planting instructions:
Remove plant from cup and rinse gel under running water.
Divide into 1–2 cm portions.
Attach to driftwood or stone using aquarium glue or thread.
Keep the rhizome exposed to avoid rot.
