Aquaforest AF Air Scrubber 2.3L is designed to reduce the amount of CO2 in the air drawn into a protein skimmer, helping to counteract low aquarium pH. High indoor CO2 levels can contribute to water acidification and affect pH, dKH stability and coral calcification.
The reactor is made from high-quality white and transparent acrylic and can be installed either inside or outside the aquarium cabinet. Air is drawn in from the bottom and passed through the absorbing media, while the three sponges in the base should be kept moist with RO water to support system efficiency.
The Smart-Twist lid provides quick access for maintenance and media replacement. The absorbing media gradually changes colour, making it easy to identify when replacement is required. The 10 mm / ⅜” connection allows the reactor to be connected to a protein skimmer.
According to Aquaforest testing, the AF Air Scrubber can help increase pH by approximately 0.2–0.4 and support stabilization within the range of 8.0–8.4. It is recommended to use the reactor together with Aquaforest AF Air Scrubber Media.
