MARSILEA HIRSUTA – Dwarf Clover Aquarium Plant in 1-2-Grow! Cup
Marsilea hirsuta is a carpeting plant from the Marsileaceae family, also known as dwarf clover due to its distinctive trifoliate leaf shape. Native to Australia, this versatile and attractive species adapts well to various aquarium conditions. When grown emersed, it produces small clover-like leaves, while submersed growth results in ovate leaves resembling Glossostigma—though Marsilea hirsuta is much easier to maintain.
Ideal for the foreground, Marsilea hirsuta has a moderate growth rate and forms a compact carpet with an average height of 3–5 cm. It thrives in well-lit tanks with CO₂ supplementation but can also adapt to milder setups. For optimal submersed growth, it is best to remove all emersed shoots before planting. Grown in Tropica’s sterile 1-2-Grow! cup, it is free from snails, algae, and pesticides, making it completely safe for shrimp and sensitive invertebrates.
