MYRIOPHYLLUM SPEC. 'GUAYANA' – Compact Light-Green Stem Plant for Natural Layouts and Nano Aquariums
Myriophyllum spec. 'Guayana' is a South American stem plant from southern Brazil, part of the Haloragaceae family, known for its fine, feather-like foliage and vibrant light-green coloration. With a compact growth form and a moderate pace, it reaches a height of 10–25 cm, making it ideal for midground placement or even background use in Nano Cubes.
The plant branches readily, forming dense, bushy clusters that enhance the visual structure of planted tanks. It thrives under medium to high lighting, and CO₂ supplementation (20–30 mg/l) further boosts its growth vigor and coloration. When placed next to red-leaf species, Myriophyllum sp. 'Guayana' provides striking color contrast, ideal for nature-style or Dutch-style aquascapes.
Propagation is easy via head cuttings or side shoots, and regular trimming helps maintain a neat, compact form while encouraging lateral growth. Cultivated in vitro, it is pest-free and safe for shrimp and sensitive tank mates.
