Found at around 2,000 meters altitude in fast-flowing waters and splash zones in Sri Lanka, this species requires moderate to high light for gradual growth. Unique to Utricularia is its carnivorous nature, producing special bladder traps to capture passing microorganisms, while remaining safe for fish and shrimp.
