LIMNOPHILA AROMATICA – In Vitro Aquarium Plant with Deep Red-Purple Coloring

Limnophila aromatica is one of the most visually striking aquarium plants, known for its vibrant coloration and refined rosette leaf arrangement. Native to tropical Asia, this third-plane plant can reach up to 50 cm in height and features finely serrated leaf edges that transition from bright green to rich red and purple tones under strong lighting.

To fully develop its vibrant colors and upright, compact structure, Limnophila aromatica requires moderate to high light, consistent CO₂ supplementation, and regular micronutrient fertilization. When grown under optimal conditions, it quickly becomes the centerpiece of any aquascape, offering vertical lines and a dramatic splash of color.

This in vitro variant ensures a pest-free, algae-free, and snail-free start, grown in a high-quality gel that allows for fast acclimation. Before planting, rinse off the gel thoroughly under running water, divide the plant into small tufts (1–2 cm), and plant them close together for a uniform, bushy group as it grows.

Main features:

  • Decorative background or third-plane aquarium plant

  • Grows up to 50 cm tall, upright and elegant

  • Rosette-form leaves with serrated edges

  • Turns red-purple under strong lighting

  • Needs moderate to high light, CO₂, and micronutrients
